All three New Jersey children held hostage for 36 hours are safe after the standoff ended, Mercer County officials said Sunday. The children, between the ages of 4 and 17, were taken hostage by the man after police discovered his girlfriend and her child had been killed. They were rescued around 4 a.m., and police said there were no injuries to law enforcement. Police said they would release more details at a later press conference.
