President Donald Trump on Wednesday pulled back on a trip to the demilitarized zone that separates South Korea and North Korea, citing inclement weather. According to Politico, Trump was on board a helicopter heading toward the DMZ when the decision was made to turn back due to poor weather. “The effort shows the strong and importance of the alliance between the two countries,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said. Journalists traveling with Trump were asked to not report on the president’s travels until after he returned to Seoul. On Tuesday, Trump apparently teased the trip, saying: “We are going to have an exciting day tomorrow for many reasons that people will find out.”
