President Trump on Tuesday morning retweeted a report from Fox & Friends that cited a single source who claimed it was the Russians who broached the idea of setting up a secret backchannel communication with Jared Kushner, and not the other way around, as had been reported by the Washington Post. Just two days earlier, in response to the Kushner story, Trump delivered a rant on Twitter the decried White House leaks as "fake news." He wrote, "Whenever you see the words 'sources say' in the fake news media, and they don't mention names... it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers."
