A senior adviser for Donald Trump lashed out at both the Republican establishment and national media after the GOP presidential frontrunner endured a week of backlash over recent comments on abortion and nuclear power as well as his campaign manager’s battery charge. In an internal memo obtained by The Washington Post on Sunday, Barry Bennett asked supporters to ignore critics who have called Trump’s campaign in to question. “America is sick of them. Their idiotic attacks just remind voters why they hate the Washington Establishment,” he wrote in a memo entitled “Digging through the Bull Sh*t,” citing tracking-poll data favorable to Trump. Bennett also slammed political opponents who “scurried” to cable-news networks to criticize Trump. “Yet another pathetic display by the so-called experts who line their pockets at the expense of our candidates and causes.”
