President Donald Trump on Friday claimed that he “took a pass” on being Time magazine’s person of the year for 2017, and was informed by the publication that he was “probably” going to be given the honor for the second year in a row. “Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named ‘Man (Person) of the Year,’ like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” the president tweeted. Trump has a long history with the magazine, and has tweeted about it more than a dozen times. The Washington Post revealed earlier this year that a fake Time cover has been displayed at multiple Trump golf clubs. Trump was named Time’s person of the year in 2016.
