President Trump tweeted on Friday night that he was delaying an announced reversal of a ban on the import of trophy hunted animals. “Put big game trophy decision on hold until such time as I review all conservation facts. Under study for years. Will update soon with Secretary Zinke. Thank you!” Trump tweeted. Earlier this week, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it would allow the importation of endangered African elephants killed for trophies in Zimbabwe and Zambia, sparking outcry from activists and some Republicans.
