President Donald Trump made his first public comments on Tuesday after the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn amid questions over his contact with Russian officials. Trump bemoaned the “illegal leaks” of information to the media that led to Flynn’s resignation. “The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington?” Trump tweeted. “Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N. Korea etc?” The tweet was posted just moments after GOP Sen. Ron Johnson went on Fox News and suggested the leaks were illegal and potentially prosecutable.
