Indiana Governor Mike Pence's preparation paid off Tuesday night as most pundits and many voters said he bested Virginia senator Tim Kaine at the first and only vice presidential debate. Now his running mate, Donald Trump, whose lack of preparation led to a decisive loss against Hillary Clinton the week before, is taking "credit" for Pence's success. “Mike Pence did an incredible job, and I’m getting a lot of credit because that’s really my first so-called choice," Trump said at a rally in Nevada on Wednesday. “I’d argue that Mike had the single most decisive victory in the history of vice presidential debates. I believe that too,” the Republican candidate added. “And last night America also got to look first hand at my judgment, and that was judgment." The same CNN/ORC poll that had Trump losing his first debate to Clinton by 35 points had Pence edging out Kaine 48% to 42% last night.
