Trump: Time to Ramp Up ‘Extreme Vetting’ After NYC Attack
President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he ordered the Department of Homeland Security to “step up our already Extreme Vetting Program,” in response to the terror attack in New York City that killed eight people and injured a dozen more—the deadliest in the city since 9/11. “Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!” Trump wrote on Twitter. The suspect, 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, is an Uzbek national. Uzbekistan is not on the list of countries as part of the Trump administration’s travel ban.
