Donald Trump told an audience Friday morning that it was “very, very appropriate” for one of his supporters to punch a black protester during a rally earlier this week. “That’s what we need a little bit more of,” Trump said of fans hitting people at his campaign events. Despite the fact that the 26-year-old protester in question was not charged and reportedly did nothing to instigate the violence, The Donald said: “This was a guy who was—should not have been allowed to do what he did. And frankly, if you want to know the truth, the police were very, very restrained. The police have been amazing. But the police were very, very restrained.” During Thursday’s GOP Debate, Jake Tapper asked Trump about the exact same incident. He replied: “I certainly do not condone that all, Jake.”
