First Lady Melania Trump’s guest for the State of the Union is the family who decided to adopt a heroin addict’s child. Albuquerque Officer Ryan Holets was out on patrol last September when he saw a homeless couple shooting up heroin outdoors; the woman was eight-months pregnant. Holets claims that “a voice” told him to “offer to adopt the unborn child” into his family of five, and the couple agreed. The baby girl, Hope, was born on October 12. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders say the Holets “represent the unbreakable American spirit.” Many reached out to help the homeless couple since the local story broke, and they are reportedly now checked into a rehabilitation center in Florida.
