Tunisia’s shattered government will attempt to rehabilitate itself Monday with the announcement of a new unity coalition. Mohammed Ghannouchi, the acting prime minister and a holdover from the ousted regime, said the new government will include opposition voices and stabilize the African nation. Tunisia is still reeling from its uprising; on Sunday, several members of the old guard—widely viewed as corrupt—were arrested by the country’s security agencies. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged Tunisia to assemble a new government “as quickly as possible” and call “credible democratic elections.”
