Turkey Expels Israeli Ambassador

Tensions are rising between Turkey and Israel over the United Nation's report on Israel's raid on the Gaza-bound protest flotilla last year. Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador and suspended military cooperation with Israel, demanding that Israel apologize for the raid. An Israeli official, speaking anonymously, says there will be no apology. The U.N. report says that Israel's raid on the Gaza flotilla, which departed from Turkey, was within the bounds of international law but was “excessive and unreasonable.” Eight Turks and one Turkish-American activist were killed in the raid.
