In response to the anonymous posting of recordings that allege corruption and other illicit actions, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan is threatening to ban Facebook and YouTube in Turkey. The newest recording, which, like all the recordings, Erdogan says have been “fabricated,” claims to catch him telling a newspaper owner to fire certain journalists. "We are determined on this subject. We will not leave this nation at the mercy of YouTube and Facebook," declared Erdogan in an interview. Apparently geeks in hoodies are that scary.
