A police officer and a pedestrian were killed when a Palestinian suspect opened fire in Jerusalem, officials said. Police immediately responded to the attack, fatally shooting the suspect inside a vehicle. Police said the suspect, who shot at people who were waiting at a bus stop, was a 39-year-old resident of East Jerusalem. “I would like to send wishes for a recovery to the wounded,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on Twitter after the attack. “There was very quick determined action by the Polico who eliminated the terrorist.” Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton also addressed the attack on Sunday, tweeting: “I condemn today’s attacks in Jerusalem and my prayers go to the victims’ families. The terrorists must be brought to justice.”
