Two men have been arrested in connection with a string of Ikea bombings across Europe between May and early September, apparently part of an extortion plot aimed at the Swedish furniture company. The two men, both age 39, are accused of demanding 6 million euros from the company as they set off a series of eight explosions at stores in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Two people were injured in the German attack. Not all of the bombs detonated and there were no fatalities. One suspect has has worked as a manager at several large corporations and has no criminal record. The other suspect has a record of drug offenses.
