According to a report in Recode, Uber's VP of growth and product Ed Baker, announced to his team that he would be leaving the company after more than three years. Baker reportedly wrote in an email: “I have always wanted to apply my experience in technology and growth to the public sector. And now seems like the right moment to get involved.” Uber employees have complained about previous behavior by Baker and his departure comes at a time when the company is facing a great deal of scrutiny for its treatment of staffers. This is the second big employee at the company to step down amidst an investigation of allegations of sexual harassment and sexism at the company. SVP of engineering Amit Singhal was asked to resign earlier this week after he had reportedly not disclosed that he was the subject of a sexual harassment investigation while he worked at Google.
