British authorities took the partner of journalist Glenn Greenwald into custody at London's Heathrow airport and interrogated him for nine hours on Sunday due to his connection to Edward Snowden. David Miranda, a Brazilian citizen, was held under a terrorism act that allows customs officials to question someone "to determine if that individual is a person concerned in the commission, preparation or execution of acts of terrorism." The Guardian said it was "dismayed" by the detention, and the Brazilian foreign ministry wrote in a statement that, "This measure has no justification since it involves an individual against whom there are no charges that can warrant the use of this legislation."
