The international community is up in arms about Libya. The United Nation Security Council voted 15-0 on Saturday night to impose strict new sanctions on Gaddafi’s nation, punishing the strongman for a brutal crackdown on protesters. The sanctions will freeze the assets of Gaddafi and his family, put an arms embargo on Libya, and impose a travel ban on Gaddafi and his crew. The powerful body also vowed to refer Gaddafi’s crimes to an international court that will investigate him for crimes against humanity. In a phone call Saturday, President Obama said the Libyan leader “needs to do what is right…by leaving now.”
