UN: Rise in Afghan Civilian Deaths

TROUBLING

More in 2015 than any other year on record.

According to a new report from the United Nations, more Afghan civilians were killed or injured in 2015 than in any other year on record. There were 11,002 civilian deaths in 2015, which is a 4 percent rise from the previous year. The number of civilian deaths attributed to anti-government groups like the Taliban decreased but the number atttributed to Afghan security forces went up.
