Gridlock here we come: When Republicans take over the House of Representatives at noon on Wednesday, they’ll begin a 20-day plan to undo as much of President Obama’s agenda as possible before his State of the Union address later this month. First up is the vote to repeal health-care reform on Friday. Then they’ll propose tens of billions of dollars in spending cuts—including cuts to highway and mass-transit programs that are traditionally off-limits. They’ll also seek to ease government regulations; Rep. Darrell Issa has, in fact, invited 150 businesses to tell him which regulations the GOP should target. Most of these votes will be symbolic, as Democrats still control the Senate.
