Gerry McEntee, president of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), is frankly disappointed with how the national Democratic Party has handled the effort to oust Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in the upcoming recall election. AFSCME is one of the U.S.’s largest and most politically connected unions and has been an active player in the fight against Walker since he waged war against organized labor last year by eliminating public workers’ collective bargaining rights. While the Wisconsin Democrats have done everything they can to replace Walker with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, McEntee said Friday, “We think that there could have been more responsibility, more work on behalf of the national party.”
