United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz on Wednesday said that the company will no longer use law-enforcement officials to remove passengers from overbooked flights following the uproar over an incident this week in which a passenger was violently expelled from a flight.] “We are not going to put a law enforcement official to take them off,” Munoz told ABC News. “To remove a booked, paid, seated passenger—we can’t do that.” The CEO also admitted to feeling “shame” when he saw viral video of police officers dragging bloodied physician David Dao, 69, from a regional flight after he refused to give up his seat.
