A lawyer for Bill Cosby argued on Friday that the Associated Press’s efforts to unseal documents from a 2005 sex-assault lawsuit would be “terribly embarrassing” for the comedian. The lawsuit, filed by a former Temple University employee (which has since been settled), accuses Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting the woman. Cosby’s lawyer, George M. Gowan III, argued that unsealing the deposition would reveal “terribly embarrassing” details about Cosby’s marriage, sex life and prescription drug use. “Frankly…it would embarrass him. [And] it would also prejudice him in eyes of the jury pool in Massachusetts,” Gowen said. Meanwhile, U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno asked Friday, “Why would he be embarrassed by his own version of the facts?”
