The U.S. State Department announced Tuesday that it would be providing an additional $364 million in humanitarian aid to Syria, for citizens embroiled in the country’s civil war. Overall, that would mean the U.S. has spent some $5.9 billion in assistance to Syrians affected by their nearly six-year civil war. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne Richard said the money would help both those in Syria and Syrians who have fled the country.
