Two civilians and six soldiers stationed at Fort Campbell were indicted Wednesday for allegedly selling Army equipment on Ebay. The eight men "sold certain U.S. Army equipment that is never offered for sale by the U.S. Department of Defense as surplus" in 2013, according to the formal indictment. Equipment purchased and sold totaled more than $1 million and included a barrel heat shield and barrel assembly for M249 machine gun and a sight for a M203 grenade launcher among other things. The items were sold to eBay buyers located in 11 countries, inlcuding Russia, China, Ukraine, Romania, and Mexico. U.S. Attorney David Revera is expected to formally announce the charges at the Federal Courthouse on Thursday afternoon.
