U.S. Developing High-Tech Weapon

A new weapon called Prompt Global Strike may find its way into the U.S. arsenal, pending President Obama’s signature. This new class of weapon can reach any corner of the planet from America in less than 60 minutes. The weapon would be so accurate and forceful that it could even diminish America’s need for nuclear weapons. The weapon’s pinpoint accuracy would enable it to take out Osama bin Laden in a cave or destroy a North Korean missile while on the launch pad. A concerned Russia has demanded the U.S. decommission one nuke for every one of these new conventional weapons, a provision agreed to by the president and laid out in the New Start treaty Obama and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev signed two weeks ago. However, a key to introducing this technology will include convincing powers like Russia and China that the missile launch wouldn't be a nuclear attack. If the new weapons are improved, Russia and other nations would regularly inspect silos for reassurance.
