Kidnappers in Egypt released two Americans and their tour guide on Monday, three days after they were taken hostage in the Sinai region. Earlier Monday, a senior Egyptian security official told CNN that intelligence officers had found the alleged kidnapper and communicated with him on the phone. The official said they had seen the hostages, who appeared to be “in a state of shock and fatigue from the grueling heat” but otherwise “composed.” Gunmen reportedly boarded their tour bus, which was on its way to Israel. Michel Louis, a pastor at a church in Boston, reportedly offered himself as a hostage after the gunmen took the female hostage, who is also from the Boston area. Louis, who suffers from diabetes, told CNN Monday that he is “in good health and in good spirits, but I have not taken my medicine since Friday, so I am a little tired.”
