U.S. Offers $380M as Syrian Aid

The United States will donate $380 million to help 8 million displaced Syrian refugees and the 2 million more still seeking refuge in nearby countries. Kuwait has vowed to donate $500 million, and other countries, including the U.K. and Saudi Arabia, have pledged funds toward the largest humanitarian appeal in United Nations history. “None of this will matter unless the money goes to the people who need it," noted Secretary of State John Kerry. "This will only change if the Assad regime stops blocking aid workers from reaching besieged communities and stop using starvation as a weapon of war.”
