U.S. Provides New Details Against Iran

U.S. officials insisted Wednesday that the Iranian government was behind the alleged plot to kill the Saudi Arabian ambassador. U.S. officials said they were skeptical at first about Iran’s involvement, but since have learned about a $100,000 payment from the Quds Force, an elite branch of the Iranian military, to the alleged plotter. Meanwhile, more details have emerged about Mansour Arbabsiar, 56, the man arrested in the alleged plot—and it paints him less as a seasoned terrorist and more as a disorganized opportunist. Arbabsiar lived in Texas for more than 30 years, and in that time, he amassed a string of failed businesses, bad credit, and a bitter ex-wife who eventually filed a protective order against him.
