U.S. Sends Medics to Guantanamo

One hundred of Guantanamo Bay's 166 prisoners are now on hunger strike, prompting the United States to send 40 nurses and medical specialists to monitor the situation. Of those on strike, 21 are being force-fed through a tube, a process described in graphic detail in a recent New York Times op-ed written by a prisoner. The inmates, many of whom are held without charge, are protesting their detention with the hunger strike, which began in February.
