The U.S. Justice Department announced Tuesday that it will not seek the death penalty against Ahmed Abu Khattala, the Libyan militant charged with the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. Khattala was captured by U.S. special forces two years ago and brought to the United States where he currently awaits trial in federal court.
