Two former gymnasts, including an Olympic medal winner, have accused Dr. Larry G. Nassar, the longtime physician for Team USA, of sexual abuse. The medalist filed suit on Thursday in California, and the other filed hers two weeks ago with Michigan police. In interviews with the Indianapolis Star, both women said they were molested during treatments in the 1990s and early ’00s, with Nassar making inappropriate sexual comments and fondling their breasts and genitals. The medalist, who goes unnamed in her lawsuit, also alleged that the Indianapolis-based USA Gymnastics organization failed to act when informed about Nassar’s behavior, allowing him to examine her alone in private rooms. Nassar is a faculty member at Michigan State University and quietly resigned from USA Gymnastics last September, after serving as physician for the team during four Olympic Games.
