Usain Bolt won gold in the 100 meter race at the World Championship in Beijing Sunday, beating the favorite Justin Gatlin. Gatlin had won 28 straight races and was also a controversial figure for having used performance-enhancing drugs in the past. Bolt won by a hundredth of a second, chalking up his third 100 meter title after struggling earlier in the season. He has won a total of nine gold medals in world titles.
