A Venezuelan opposition candidate was killed at a campaign rally just two weeks before parliamentary elections are set to take place. Luis Manuel Diaz was holding a public meeting in the central Guárico state when attackers in a car shot him dead. Opposition leaders have claimed that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela is responsible.
