Venice Bans Noisy Rolled Suitcases

Residents in Venice sick of hearing the clickety clack of foreigners’ wheeled luggage have instituted a ban on noisy suitcases with wheels. Beginning next year, tourists will be liable for fines of up to €500 for failing to either carry their luggage, or switch to noise-free wheels made of rubber or filled with air. Residents of the car-free city will reportedly be exempt from the ban.
