The family of seasoned CBS reporter Harold Dow released a statement Monday identifying the cause of his death, linking it to an asthma attack suffered behind the wheel. The Hackensack (New Jersey) Police Department had reported that an inhaler was found on the floor of Dow's car. According to Dow's family, the journalist had been contending with severe asthma during the weeks prior to his death, and checked in to a New Jersey hospital last Monday for emergency treatment. Dow was a five-time Emmy winner, had been a correspondent for 48 Hours, and throughout his career, had contributed segments to various CBS news magazine shows and reported for the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.
