Vice Media announced Tuesday that it has suspended two senior executives following a New York Times report last month exposing sexual-harassment allegations against Chief Digital Officer Mike Germano and President Andrew Creighton. The Daily Beast reported in November on current and former Vice staffers who complained of a “toxic” workplace in which sexual harassment and misconduct went unchecked. The memo sent Tuesday morning by Vice COO/CFO Sarah Broderick claimed that the company is “committed to 50/50 male/female at every level across the organization by 2020 and pay parity by the end of 2018.” The latest suspensions makes a total of five senior employees ousted from Vice Media and nonspecific “disciplinary action” taken against an unspecified number of others since The Daily Beast report.
