If we believe what she tweets, Victoria Jackson can’t stop crying because President Obama was reelected. The former Saturday Night Live star, devout Christian, and Tea Party activist took the Donald Trump “high road” in reacting to the election. In a string of tweets, Jackson said, “I can’t stop crying. America died” and “Thanks a lot Christians for not showing up. You disgust me.”
Well that doesn’t seem very Christian now, does it? For those not familiar with Jackson’s religious and political positions—which she detailed in her autobiography, Is My Bow Too Big? How I Went From Saturday Night Live to the Tea Party, and which she regularly espouses on her Web show, The Victoria Jackson Show, here’s a road map to how we got from her stand-up to her meltdown.
Fall 2008: Jackson goes on Fox News to talk with Bill O’Reilly about why she is supporting then-Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.

“I think Obama is a communist,” Jackson tells O’Reilly. “And my husband said, ‘Don’t use that word. Say radical or Marxist.’ But, you know, Karl Marx wrote the book, so I don’t see why people are afraid to use the word Communist. Because I’ve done a lot of research. And I’ve read the book 1984 by George Orwell, twice. And I was walking through the airport and every magazine had Obama’s picture on it. Every one. And I turned on the TV and every channel had him on it. It’s like Castro in Cuba or the guy in China or Saddam Hussein. There are pictures everywhere!”
March 1, 2010: Jackson introduces a song she wrote, “There’s a Communist Living in the White House.” Sample lyrics: “Why aren’t people shocked or something? Why aren’t people up in arms? Does anyone read history or see red flags or hear alarms? The streets are filled with deaf and dumb as I squeak like a mouse, ‘There’s a Communist living in the White House!’”
March 11, 2011: Jackson writes in her blog that she thinks she is being spied on because of her conservative views. “A government spying on its citizens is a good thing, if it’s for national security. If the spying is to silence the opposition, it is communism. Whether I’m being spied on or not, I shouldn’t feel this way about my government. When people fear the government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people there is liberty. Therefore, I will keep my bumper stickers and keep my voice loud. Obama should fear me. I can fire him!”
March 22, 2011: When Glee characters Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) kiss for the first time, Jackson is not happy at all. In a blog post, she calls it “sickening.” She then appears on Showbiz Tonight, where she says that being called “homophobic” is “a cute little buzzword of the liberal agenda.”She also explains: “It doesn’t matter what I think. What matters is what the Bible says and I’m really concerned about our country because immorality is, well, let’s see, secular humanism rules the airwaves and it’s stealing the innocence of this whole generation of children. My daughter’s a teenager and I can’t find a show that I can watch.”
Oct. 9, 2011: As a writer and video blogger for Patriot Update, Jackson visits protesters at Occupy Wall Street to challenge their views. In the introduction to the video, Jackson is driving into Manhattan and explaining why she wants to talk to the protesters. “That’s the skyline minus the Twin Towers which were right about there, that some Muslims crashed into. I’m here because I’m going to Wall Street. I want to ask the protesters what they’re protesting. I think they’re against capitalism and I think capitalism is a great thing. That’s how our country got to be the best in the world.”
December 2011: On Politichicks, another Web show she cohosts, Jackson says that the U.S. is being overtaken by radical Muslims determined to bring the nation under sharia law. She also claims to have participated in a high-level security meeting in our nation’s capital.
"I just went to a briefing in Washington, D.C., across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8:30 a.m. two days ago and it changed my life. For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Qurans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me ... that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious.”
Oct. 2, 2012: On The Victoria Jackson Show, Jackson chimes in on Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” controversy and says, “If I was raped, I would have the baby and think of it as God making a blessing out of something bad.”
Oct. 16, 2012: Jackson appears on The Howard Stern Show and declares that gay marriage “would make God mad” because “God made the rules. He made a man and woman’s bodies fit together, he made the Ten Commandments.” She also tells Stern that she was a Christian when she was on SNL but she wasn’t political.
