Live television footage captured a Houston reporter rescuing a man after he drove into the city’s record floodwaters. ABC-13 Eyewitness News reporter Steve Campion can be heard on the audio expressing exasperation as he watched a driver head into the chest-high waters: “Why are you doing that? Why are you doing that?!” Then he and a cameraman both yelled at the man to act quickly as the car sank. “Dude, you’ve got to get out of the car,” Campion yells. “You’ve got to get out!” When the man opened the car door, clearly stunned, he asked: “Stay in the car?” They responded: “Swim! Swim! Leave the car! Swim!”
