Villagers: Bergdahl Sought Out Taliban

Afghan villagers who lived a half-mile from Bowe Bergdahl's base say they saw him in their town in 2009. Interviewed Wednesday by the Washington Post, they say Bergdahl was intentionally heading toward Taliban camps, despite warnings from villagers. “They tried to tell him not to go there, that it is dangerous," said Ibrahim Manikhel, the local district's intelligence chief, who added Bergdahl went anyway. “We think he probably was high after smoking hashish. Why would an American want to find the Taliban?”
