Talk about a buzz kill: As Bono and his U2 bandmates took the stage at Glastonbury on Friday night, protesters from the activist group Art Uncut blew up a 20 foot balloon bearing a message to the Irish band that read "U Pay Your Tax 2." The band was only able to play its opening song, "Until The End of The World," before security intervened and caused an uproar among the protesters. Though there were no arrests, protesters said the security intervention was "totally over the top" and unnecessarily violent. U2 has been heavily criticized for moving its corporate base from Ireland to the Netherlands, where royalties on music incur virtually no tax.
