Volkswagen will ask customers affected by its diesel-emissions cheating scandal to have their cars refitted “in the next few days,” the company’s new CEO said. As many as 11 million cars have been affected by the manipulated engine software. The company did not explain how refitting the cars would make them comply with emissions standards, or how it would affect mileage and characteristics.
