A Texas family came across a king snake ensnared in their garden’s protective webbing—and they got more than they bargained for when it suddenly regurgitated another snake of roughly the same size. Like the good modern-day humans they are, they quickly whipped out a smartphone and captured the gruesome, yet oddly hypnotic, spectacle.

According to a snake expert reached by local news station KSLA, the animal was likely surprised mid-dinner and decided to reject its meal rather than be forced to try and escape with a full belly weighing it down.

As the woman in the video puts it, “Well Dottie, you are free to go catch another snake.”
