BELT IT OUT
Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Sing ‘Comfortably Numb’ with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour
The Oscar-nominated actor can apparently do no wrong.
Benedict Cumberbatch is one interesting chap.
The Oscar-nominated star of The Imitation Game, the beloved TV series Sherlock, and the upcoming Marvel superhero film Doctor Strange has, among other things, taught English at a Tibetan monastery in India, rocked a flask at the Oscars, and was once kidnapped at gunpoint in South Africa. He is also a great appreciator of live music. Back in March, this writer witnessed Cumberbatch at an LCD Soundsystem gig at Webster Hall in New York City—incognito in a T-shirt and black newsboy cap—rip shots and unleash some spirited dance moves that would make even Julian Assange blush.
Well, on Wednesday night he one-upped that performance by making a guest appearance onstage with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall in London. There, Cumberbatch flexed his baritone vocals on the track “Comfortably Numb” in front of an ecstatic crowd.
