New York mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner has confirmed that recently revealed dirty messages were indeed sent by him. The gossip website TheDirty.com, which first posted the messages, claims they were sent in August 2012—a year after Weiner resigned from Congress over other online indiscretions—but they've had the dates edited out. They were sent to an anonymous young woman via Facebook and a social network called Formspring and included nude images. Weiner also appears to have used the alias Carlos Danger to send some of them. “I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have,” Weiner said in a statement, insisting that “[t]his behavior is behind me.”
