Does this mean that Weinergate is officially over? In Anthony Weiner’s resignation letter, he wrote, “I hereby resign as the member of the House of Representatives for New York’s Ninth Congressional District effective at midnight, Tuesday, June 21, 2011.” The letter will be read on the House floor on Tuesday. It’s now up to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to call for a special election for Weiner’s congressional seat, which covers parts of Queens and Brooklyn. The special election is expected to be held in November.
