After nearly five years of marriage, it appears recent Oscar winner Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are set for a divorce following reports of his multiple affairs. In a last-ditch effort to heal the marriage, James checked into sex-addiction rehabilitation, but it won't be enough to make up for the 11-month affair with Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, who exposed the tryst to In Touch Weekly magazine. According to McGee, while Bullock was off earning her Oscar, she and James were having "intimate relations" followed by several texts a day and meetups for sex at least twice a week for over a month.

In 2005, the disappearance of Olivia Newton-John's boyfriend of nine years, Patrick McDermott, puzzled investigators. The Coast Guard believed him to have been lost at sea during a fishing trip in the Pacific Ocean. Until now. Locals in the Mexican resort of Sayulita reported this week that McDermott has been posing as Pat Kim, a ship's mate on a tourist yacht. Before his disappearance, McDermott had filed for bankruptcy and was involved a child-support dispute.

Anne Hathaway put an end to a four-year relationship with 30-year-old Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri on the eve of releasing her new film Get Smart in 2008. And, indeed, the actress did get smart. Just over a week after the split, Follieri faced allegations that he had received millions from investors after he claimed he was CFO at the Vatican. In addition, his charity, the Follieri Foundation, came under investigation by the New York State Attorney General's Office and, in the preceding April, was arrested on fraud charges after his $250,000 check bounced. In September 2008, Follieri pleaded guilty to 14 counts of fraud and was sentenced to 4½ years in prison.

In 1991, Liz Taylor married husband number eight—Larry Fortensky, a construction worker 20 years her junior whom she had met in rehab—at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. At the time, Taylor said, "I always said I would get married one more time and with God's blessings, this is it, forever." But, five years later, they would find themselves divorced and, two years after that, Fortensky was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend.

Twenty days after divorcing her first husband, musician Danny Keough, Lisa Marie Presley tied the knot with Michael Jackson (whom she had dated for four months) in a living room in the Dominican Republic. Soon into their marriage, the King of Pop's own troubles came to light when he was accused of child molestation. "I believed he didn't do anything wrong, and that he was wrongly accused and, yes, I started falling for him. I wanted to save him," she said. Their marriage was largely believed to be a sham, despite a publicity stunt kiss at the 1994 VMAs and constant assertions that the pair shared an active sex life: "Do we have sex?" asked Presley. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" In 1996, Presley filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Elvis' daughter then moved on to noted Elvis fan Nicolas Cage, tying the knot in 2002, but their union lasted just 108 days. Cage filed for the divorce, stating that the pair had "amicably resolved" their time together. Presley said she was "foolish and embarrassed" about her third failed marriage, saying, "It was a big mistake."

Rumors of a fairy tale romance between R&B singers Rihanna and Chris Brown began at the end of 2007 and, in February 2008 the couple was first photographed together. One year later, however, just before the Grammys, Brown was charged with assaulting Rihanna and released on $50,000 bail. In a 20/20 interview, Rihanna recalled the fight began over a text message from another woman. "I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth," she said Rihanna. "It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly." Chris Brown eventually pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and was given five years probation and ordered to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna unless they are at public events.

In 2006, 37-year-old rock star Marilyn Manson ended his one-year marriage to Dita Von Teese amid reports that he had been having an affair with 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood. Following their split, Von Teese told the Telegraph: "I wasn't supportive about his partying or his relationship with another girl, and as much as I loved him I wasn't going to be part of that." Wood and Manson split in 2008, but they soon got back together, and in January, while performing in Paris, he proposed to the True Blood actress onstage. Wood attests he is "lovely, really human and just amazing. It may surprise you just how healthy and loving our relationship is."

Actress Lana Turner was married eight times but it was her relationship with gangster Johnny Stompanato that most remember. Stompanato was an abusive, possessive boyfriend, and Turner tried to end their relationship several times. Once, while she was filming a movie with Sean Connery—with whom she was reportedly having an affair—Stompanato barged on to the set with a gun and threatened Connery. (The future James Bond disarmed the hood and knocked him out with a punch.) A few months later, in 1958, during an argument Turner was having with Stompanato, her 14-year-old daughter defended her mother, and stabbed him to death.

Cher's impressive résumé of questionable men is decades long. Just three days after her divorce from Sonny Bono in 1975, she was back at the altar with rocker Gregg Allman in 1975. The relationship would only last four years until Cher would move on to younger prospects, including a 22-year-old Queens bagel maker, Rob Camilletti, and Tom Cruise, with whom she lived when she was 36 and the actor was 20.

Nearly a decade ago, Denise Richards seemed to have it all. The model-turned-actress married Charlie Sheen in 2002, and the Hollywood couple had two daughters. It only took three years, however, before she filed for divorce and claimed that Sheen was threatening to kill her. The two were caught up in a nasty public battle, with Richards receiving a restraining order after alleging that she didn't trust her ex to be around their daughters, and that he had a habit of visiting prostitutes, and frequenting online sites. Sheen called her allegations a "smear campaign," but the bad boy is back in the spotlight for alleged domestic abuse against his current wife, Brooke Mueller. After their divorce, Richards sought love elsewhere—in the arms of guitarist Richie Sambora, the husband of her then-friend Heather Locklear. Luckily, she's put her search for love on hold. In the last season of her reality show Denise Richards: It's Complicated, she was dating, but isn't looking for anything serious right now.

Poor Liza doesn't have the greatest track record with men. The star's first marriage, to Aussie entertainer Peter Allen, lasted for seven years, from 1967 to 1974, but the Boy from Oz performer became a gay icon in the years following their marriage. Her fourth marriage, to concert promoter David Gest, was arguably one of the biggest train wrecks in Hollywood history. After their high-profile nuptials—where Michael Jackson was the best man and Liz Taylor was the maid of honor—their marriage fell apart after 16 months. Gest later made a public spectacle of their relationship by suing Minnelli, claiming she was an alcoholic and abused him, but the suit was dismissed because of a lack of evidence. Since their marriage, Gest has repeatedly denied he was gay. And apparently, the apple doesn't fall from the tree. Minnelli's mother, Judy Garland, also had questionable taste—two of her husbands, film director Vincente Minnelli and disco manager Mickey Deans, were also believed to be gay.

For more than 60 years, Archie Andrews has been leading on two women at Riverdale High. Though he believes spoiled rich girl Veronica Lodge to be his girlfriend, the fickle comic book icon actually dated girl-next-door Betty Cooper first, and frequently gets back together with her. In addition to Betty and Veronica, Archie has been known to date other girls at Riverdale. In May 2009, it was revealed that Archie would finally pop the question to Veronica and break Betty's heart. Several months later, Archie Comics announced that the proposal was actually part of a six-part fantasy series in which Archie would propose to Betty and Veronica, marry each one, and have twins with each. An epilogue, due later this year, reveals that it was all just a dream and Archie has married neither—and he can still have it both ways.
