Pat Sajak’s final episode, which was taped Friday, will air on Friday, June 7, according to Deadline. Sajak is the longest-running host of any game show, a feat he achieved in 2018, surpassing The Price Is Right’s Bob Barker. The 77-year-old announced in June 2023 that he would retire at the end of Season 41. He agreed to stay on as a consultant on the show for the next three years. Sajak has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981, winning three Emmys for his work and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. A week after his retirement announcement it was revealed that Ryan Seacrest would take over hosting duties in Season 42 as well as serve as a consulting producer on the show. Co-host Vanna White, who joined the show as chief letter-turner in 1982, will continue on alongside Seacrest, having signed a new deal in Sept. 2023 that will see her remain on the show until 2026.
