Can you imagine how much fun it would be to Broadway-up, “Roll my weed on that ass, that’s an ass-tray?”
Not only could Anne Hathaway hit the high notes in 2012’s Les Miserables, but homegirl can rap, too. On last night’s edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hathaway gave some rap songs a Broadway makeover. 50 Cent’s “In Da Club,” Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” all received cabaret-style remixes as the actress sang and Fallon tickled the ivories.
Though their performance has Tony Award potential, let’s take a look at how other actors have fared in the rap game.

Natalie Portman
The Black Swan Oscar winner rapped on SNL with The Lonely Island. The digital short featured Portman being a complete badass, shattering her good-girl Harvard reputation in an epic firestorm of profanity (all in good fun, of course).
Tina Fey
The comedienne joined Donald Glover, an ex-writer on her NBC series 30 Rock, to grace our eardrums with the rap track “Real Estate.” Fey rapped about royalty and Nordstrom. So fetch.
James Franco
Franco’s role as Alien, a pseudo-gangster/Gatsby/rapper in Spring Breakers, was bizarrely brilliant, but his rap skills could use some work. Sprang Breaaaak.
Anna Kendrick
This past weekend, Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick made her SNL debut. Cast members joined her as the “International Nasty Girls,” and belted a white-girl rap called “Dongs All Over the World.” It was fantastic, “like sexual Pokémon.”
Drake
Before he made it big as an actual rapper, Drake did his best impression of one on the Canadian teen soap Degrassi. Priceless.
Gwyneth Paltrow
She’s belted out tunes on the Fox TV series Glee and and the film Country Strong, but Paltrow can also rap. She admitted to Graham Norton that she knew the words to “Straight Outta Compton,” and started rapping the NWA tune on the program.
Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg)
Who can forget Mark Wahlberg’s original claim to fame? The perpetually shirtless frontman of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch churned out some stellar music in the 90’s before he hit the silver screen. Rumors of the group’s reunion surfaced for a Boston Strong relief event last year, but we’re still waiting for those good vibrations.
Snooki
Snooki, she of up-do fame, stopped by Anderson Cooper’s former talk show, Anderson Live, where the Jersey Shore gal sang about playing hooky and cookies...because what else could possibly rhyme with Snooki?
